Improved parking space management, reduced search traffic

The Inzell Parking Forum made great progress in tackling one of the City of Munich's most pressing traffic problems. The projects are now in normal
usage or are currently being implemented by the City of Munich. That is why in 2004, after almost eight years, we decided to suspend the Parking Forum's activities for the time being.

Results and Recommendations

  • As the project "Parking Space Management in Peri-Inner City Areas“ was a great success, it will be extended to other city districts.

  • The "Blue Zone“ concept was successfully transferred to almost all old town districts. Certain elements, such as the color-coded delivery zones could also be implemented in other districts. 

  • The car-park routing system for Munich's inner city and the district around main station were launched in early 2006.

  • The continuous implementation of accompanying measures remains a top priority.
