Forum on the Future of Mobility

Dealing with Tomorrow's Future Today

Economic, settlement, space and population structures as well as legal and traffic conditions are changing worldwide. And so are people's mobility behavior and the challenges for mobility and traffic services. Against this background, the participants in the forum “The Future of Mobility in the Munich Region“ developed a common vision for traffic in the Munich region in the coming 25 years. They took up cross-cutting issues which have proven to be relevant to the future development of traffic in the Munich region and which go beyond the scope of implementation of other Inzell forums.

Results and Recommendations (as of Inzell VIII, 2010)

• Involvement and motivation of Inzell partners, especially in the environs, in building the necessary infrastructure for electrically powered mobility

• Anaylzing user profiles

• Exchange of experience and harmonization of activities between the Inzell Initiative and other working groups in the region to avoid a duplication of work

• Exchange of information and assessment of future EU standards; promotion of specific, implementation-focused measures for complying with environmental standards according to EU best practice

• Further consideration of car-sharing and rental bikes against the background of innovative mobility services
